2006 HISTORY

The Nixon Surf Challenge 2006 was an absolute blast as every year and enjoyed by all that attended. Puerto Rican surfer Dylan Graves was crowned king of the Surf Challenge, snatching the title from Tahiti’s Hira Teriinoatoofa after landing an amazing air reverse. Hira was closely following by Spain’s Gony Zubizarreta coming in 3rd and France’s Fredo Robin coming in 4th. The Nixon Surf Challenge is more that a surf contest, it is a gathering of friends, doing what they love most, it involves exploring the pleasures of the Basque Country, with it’s fabulous cuisine, local wines and traditional live music. No wonder it has been labelled by most surfers as their favorite “contest”.
